Roadmap

Wing Q v3.0.1 does not connect to Console on iOS/iPadOS 18.1

Wing Q app does not search for consoles and also does not allow manual entry of IP address on iPhone running iOS 18.1 or iPad running iPadOS 18.1.

  • Allows view of the Offline Editor, but after tapping Disconnect, the app only allows the running of the rescan button one then the button is greyed/disabled. The scanning for consoles animation does appear for a brief moment, but does not find consoles.

  • Tapping the WiFi button on the top right shows the scanning for consoles animation briefly then returns no consoles on the network.

  • When you are able to tap the Manual button, it allows you to type in the IP address but regardless of what is typed, the confirm button is greyed/disabled.

This was working in iOS 18.0.1 and iPadOS 18.0.1, so something in 18.1 may have broken something. Mixing Station on both iPhone/iPad and Copilot on iPad work fine in iOS 18.1. I know the usual ‘do not to update to the latest OS for a while after initial release’, but thankfully this was on personal devices, not my other devices I use in a critical show scenario 😂
