Time-Based & Event Automation for WING – A Game-Changer

The WING already offers advanced media playback and show control, but introducing time- and date-based automation would take it to the next level. A simple yet powerful option to trigger actions at specific times or on specific days would be an absolute game-changer.

Core Feature Idea:

Users could set up a schedule where WING automatically:

• Loads specific Snippets, Snapshots, or Showfiles at predefined times or days.

• Triggers media playback (e.g., a gong sound at 19:30 and another at 19:45 before a show).

• Changes the console layout based on the application (e.g., a compact layout for a small group meeting, a full band setup for a church service, or a different layer arrangement for a theater show).

• Plays alert sounds at a deadline (e.g., at 21:00 during a live game show or interactive theater piece, an alarm sound plays to signal the end of an activity).

Why This Would Be a Game-Changer:

• Eliminates the need for manual recalls in time-sensitive environments.

• Enhances workflow efficiency, especially for fixed installations, houses of worship, and theaters.

• Allows flexible, application-based layout switching without changing the actual Showfile.

• Can act as a basic event timer, reducing the need for external cues.

Even a simple UI where users can set a list of time-based actions would already be incredibly useful. Combined with a manual override option (to disable automation when needed), this would be a massive upgrade for WING!
