Outputs-only AES50 stage box options

StageConnect seems to be the focus of current development, and while I always like having options I must admit I’m a bit puzzled as to there’s not more options on the AES50 side. Due to the headphone routing stuff on the Wing it seems like many folks will need to pick up a DN4816-O with their Wing Racks just to have more output options, let alone (another for?) a digital FOH feed.

This can work okay for Wing if you only need 32 channels between the two, but is less convenient for X32 which is stuck with ultranet’s 16.

Both mixers however typically run with tons of spare AES50 capacity. Is there a technical reason that we couldn’t have an AES50-based 1U rack unit with 16 outputs like the DN4816-O? That would certainly be a better fit for X32, and arguably an equally-or-more flexible option for Wing (instead or in addition to the StageConnect box). The only downside I can think of is having separate power, which only applies to the wing case and in many situations (i.e. just adding outputs to the wing in the same rack) it is not really an issue.

Perhaps I’m missing something on the technical front, but it seems like the biggest limitations of AES50 currently are just the products that are available.
