DREAM BIG! - WING PRO??
Hey, WING community!
I love seeing all the great ideas being shared here. If Behringer keeps refining and improving the WING, it has the potential to dominate the market as an outstanding console. Now, I’d like to invite us all to dream a little bigger.
I imagine a WING Pro, maybe even a Midas version, that keeps the same workflow, user interface, and overall design but massively upgrades its capabilities. Here’s what I’d love to see:
• Processing power increased by at least 4× to handle more channels, effects, and flexibility.
• 96 kHz native processing for higher fidelity and lower latency.
• 96 stereo channels, 16 auxes, 32 buses, and 32 matrixes for large-scale productions.
• An FX Rack with 16 premium effects and at least 32 standard effects.
• Dedicated external insert slots that don’t take up FX slots—solving Waves integration challenges.
• Additional effect slots per channel for things like De-Essing, Harmonics, or Auto-Tune.
• WING-to-WING remote control: Multiple WING consoles should be able to link and control each other. Example: A redundant WING on stage handling inputs, while another at FOH serves as a remote controller.
• Built-in Auto-Mixer with support for at least 64 channels, making it ideal for panel discussions, corporate events, and broadcast applications.
• A second large touchscreen or additional display for a more advanced workflow.
This wouldn’t require reinventing the wheel—just scaling WING up to its full potential. If priced around €5,000–€10,000, this could become one of the most powerful and versatile mixing systems available.
What do you all think? Would you be on board for a WING Pro? Also, feel free to use this post to gather ideas specifically for hardware and processing capacity—not software features, since those are already well covered in the forum. Do you think my proposal is the right scale, or would you go even bigger?
