Bug Report - Wing Edit PC - Unable to select effect to save in Library
Wing Edit 3.1 for PC (may be present in other platforms as well). This bug is repeatable with and without Wing hardware present. Hardware is Wing Rack FW 3.0.5. Bug occurs on Win 10 and Win 11.
In theory, you should be able to go to the library page, select the FX tab, select an effect, and save it’s current settings. In reality, quite often, attempting to select the effect to save does not actually change the effect selected to be saved. The easiest / quickest way to get into this state is to select a currently unassigned effect, then attempt to go back to an assigned effect. Usually, the unassigned effect will remain selected. This problem SEEMS to be related to the order in which you select effects. For example, if I work my way across a column from right to left, slot 15, slot 11, slot 7, then select slot 3, I will in fact get the effect in slot 3. If I attempt to go vertically down or up a row of effects, the selected effect will probably not change. There does seem to be a bit of randomness to this bug, but it is very, very repeatable, and incredibly infuriating when trying to save a specific effect’s parameters.
Also, you really, really, really need to bring back the direct access to load & save on the graphic for each effect (speed, guys, speed of access to functions needs to be at the forefront of your thought process when designing this software), as well as the tap tempo button on the graphic for each effect where applicable. Not having access to tap tempo on the remote mixing software for a retail production console is inexcusable.
