Roadmap

3 New FX : Channel Gate / Channel Comp / Channel EQ Module

There are a lot of requests for specific channel processing models to be available as an FX itself:

Idea
How about creating 3 new FX Types that are just the channel processing modules?
- Channel Gate with all the models selectable
- Channel Comp with all the models selectable, including X-Over function
- Channel EQ with all the models, or just make the WING EQ available as it’s own FX as the other EQ models are already available as FX.

Bonus points for including Key Source on the compressor & gate
It will introduce latency but that’s okay.

Then everybody has the possibility to build their processing chain in one channel, as they need it.

Use case Examples

- vocal channel with:
PSE
WING EQ for problem solving EQ: feedback, proximity, sibilants
WING COMPRESSOR for Level Control
INS 1: WING EQ for colour
INS 2: BDX-Desser (because it’s better than the Dual Deessser)

- bass channel with:
GATE/EXPANDER to remove hum between songs
WING EQ
INS 1: WING COMPRESSOR for Level control
WING COMPRESSOR sidechained from Kick
INS 2: Soul Warmth pre for harmonics

Caveats/Considerations:

I know these things are kind of possible with the EVEN/SOUL/VINTAGE/BUS/MASTERING CHANNEL FX, but I’m sure that there are lots of use cases with the other models, especially:

  • WING EQ/COMP/GATE because of flexibility and fine-tune-ability

  • PSE & BDX-De-esser for Vocals

  • Eternal Bliss as great problem-solver thanks to the negative ratio & GR limit

Alternative solution right now is to use user signal to let it pass through another channel before sending to mains/busses, but that’s one channel “wasted”.

makes no sense for the Triple DEQ which is better than the single DEQ in Gate
